Anti-Poverty Week 2025

Anti-Poverty Week 2025

Sunday 12 – Saturday 18 October 2025

Anti-Poverty Week supports the Australian community to have an increased understanding of poverty and to act collectively to end it. The campaign encourages all Australians to take action and focus on positive solutions to end poverty.

Anti-Poverty Week (APW) is held each year around 17 October, the United Nations Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Anti-Poverty Week 2025 is being held from Sunday 12 to Saturday 18 October.

The key message is: Poverty exists. Poverty hurts us all. We can all do something about it.

In Australia, there are more than 3.32 million people living below the poverty line. That’s more than 13.4% of the population.

Many of those affected live in deep poverty.
