A Time For Reconciliation

A Time For Reconciliation

National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week

Monday 26 May to Tuesday 3 June 2025 is a time for reconciliation; with National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week encouraging us all to explore and reflect on how we can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

National Sorry Day

Held each year on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.

National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for 2025, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. Bridging Now to Next calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

You can find out more about National Reconciliation Week on the Reconciliation Australia website.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

At the Early Morning Centre, we acknowledge the way the traditional owners have cared for this land from time immemorial and commit ourselves to building more just ways of living together with the First Peoples of this land.

We’re holding a special lunch on Monday 26 May to honour this time for reconciliation. Our friends from Helping ACT will be cooking a Feel Good Feed lunch, all guests are invited to attend.

Please feel free to speak to our team to find out more.
