Guitar jam sessions

Guitar Jam Sessions

We’re excited to announce a new guest activity at the EMC, guitar jam sessions.

In March this year we received a wonderful donation of pre-loved guitars. The guitars had been restored by a lovely man named Colin. Colin volunteers with Soldier On and he also runs a charity where he collects and fixes old guitars and then donates them to charities and community organisations like the EMC. We are so grateful to Colin and Soldier On for this generous donation of music that we can share with our guests.

Playing a musical instrument like a guitar is not only fun and entertaining for others, but it’s also beneficial for our physical and mental health. Music helps reduce stress, strengthens patience and perseverance, improves memory, and cultivates creativity.

The guitar jam sessions will be held at the EMC fortnightly on Tuesdays from 10am to 11am and all guests are welcome to join in, either to play or relax and listen.

In the words of Dobie Gray, “Give me the beat boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away…”
